File Types and Their Support within illumy

Different applications support different types of files as attachments and in-app previews. Below are the current lists of file types supported as attachments by illumy.

Generally, document, image, audio, and video file types are the most commonly supported as attachments.

Text

Text files contain plain text and include file types such as .txt and .rtf. Text files are generally small in size and can be easily attached or previewed within an app or platform.

Documents

These are files that contain formatted text, images, and other multimedia elements, and include file types such as .doc, .docx, .pdf, and .ppt.

Images

Common still image file types are .jpg, .png, .gif, .svg, and .bmp are usually supported by most applications.

Audio

These are files that contain audio recordings and include file types such as .mp3, .wav, and .aac.

Video

Video files contain moving images and audio and include file types such as .mp4, .mov, and .avi.
