The beauty of having all of your communications in a single thread is that you always have context for every message. That includes text, images, videos, and more. We call it Hyper-Communications, and we think you’ll love it.
Sometimes, though, you might need to put a virtual sticky note on a particular message, file, or interaction. That’s where Flags come in. You’re probably familiar with flagging email messages. The flag function in illumy works pretty much the same, except better (naturally 😉). For one thing, you can flag anything—no matter if you’re the one who sent it or if you’re the recipient. Plus, you can easily see a list of your flagged items all at once, for a quick and easy to-do list.
flagging in a web browser
To flag any interaction (message, shared file, voice or video call, etc.):
- Hover your mouse over the specific message, file, etc., you want to flag.
- When it’s highlighted, a small pop-up menu appears at the top right edge of the highlighted area.
- Click the gray Flag icon in that menu.
- A small rectangle with a red flag appears next to the item. To remove the flag, click that rectangle.
to quickly find flagged items on web
- In the Widgets panel on the right, once you click on a thread, you’ll see several widget options:
- Phone >
- Files >
- Media >
- Flags >
- Help >
- Click the Flags module to open the list. Every item or message that you’ve flagged is displayed.
- Hover over an item, and then click the Go To Message icon to go to the flagged item within the main conversation thread.
- You can un-flag an item in this module as well. Just click on the red Flag icon that appears at the upper right of the message.
flagging in the mobile app

- In Android or iOS, touch and long-press the item, and a popup menu with more options will display.
- Select “Flag” from the pop-up menu that appears at the bottom of your screen.
- A small, red flag icon appears next to the item.
- To remove a flag:
- On iOS, swipe left and select “More.” In the pop-up menu, select “Remove Flag,” or click “Cancel” if you change your mind.
